June 2022 100+ dogs were set to be euthanized in one week at the Riverside dog shelter due to overcrowding. We knew we had to do something to help. With excitement in our hearts we drove up and fostered Chance, a goofy 90lb boxer. For the next 2 years, we have continuously fostered and rehomed high euthanasia risk dogs who deserve a chance at life.

The overall issue of shelter overcrowding is a life & death challenge for rescue dogs, rescue groups, and shelter facilities. In working with rescues, they all faced the same constraint of not having enough fosters and faced great difficulty in finding the right foster home for their dogs. In talking with people, they didn’t know where to start with fostering and were intimidated by the process.
